Cab Fox Tours started with a vision to paint a picture behind the “dirt to bottle” concept of the famed Napa Valley region. There are a myriad of immigrant families that established their roots in the Napa Valley, hailing predominantly from ranches and cities across Mexico and other immigrant roots, tending to the Valley. This is how my story starts, I am the daughter of immigrant parents hailing from El Rodeo, Jalisco, and Mexico City/Puebla.
My grandfather, Jesus Santos Feliciano, migrated to the U.S. through the Bracero program and shortly thereafter my uncle, Patricio Santos Feliciano, migrated to the Napa Valley and learned how to harvest “liquid gold.” Similarly, my now deceased uncle, Emilio Guzman Santos, moved to the Valley alongside his family, moving across harvest seasons back and forth, leaving it all in the Valley.
When I moved to the Bay Area in 2007, I would visit often and saw the “behind the scenes harvest” through the hard work of my uncle’s family, late at night, continuously tending to the vineyards “behind the shadows.” Since then, I’ve developed an interest in the wine that my family helped harvest and have met outstanding stewards of the Valley, with similar stories as mine, now working and telling the stories of the Valley, built on the backs of our families.
Since the pandemic, I’ve visited the Valley extensively to really discover “mom and pop” vineyards and progressed to more niche, single vineyard cabernet houses across the “strip” of the Highway 29. We’ve learned the history of the famous Napa Valley and can’t wait to show you what we’ve discovered since we started visiting.
I started my career in financial services in San Francisco and since then I’ve helped source some of the best cabs for some of my past bank employee resource group events as well as annual Hispanic Heritage events because this “outstanding wine is literally in our backyard.” I can’t wait for Cab Fox Tours to show you some of this “liquid gold” across intimate tours and tastings at top Valley Cabernet houses that we are members at. Recently, I’ve started to follow more women winemakers and can secure private tastings at wineries that honor the passion and ancestry of the harvest team members and their respective families.
